How to: Make Your Own Party Hats

STEP 1: GATHER ALL MATERIALS

You will need:

• 1x thin card
• 1x Pair of scissors
• 1x bottle or stick of glue
• 1x Pack of double sided tape
• 1x Roll of string
• 1x Pack of shiny stickers of your choice
• 1x Pencil
• 1x Empty roll of wrapping paper – this will be used to cut into triangles
• A few small decorative bells

STEP 2: CREATE A SEMI CIRCLE

Create a semi circle by tying some string to your pencil. Then, starting along the straight edge of the paper, begin creating a semi circle from left to right.
TIP: A longer string will make a larger hat, a smaller string will make smaller hats! 

STEP 3: GLUE YOUR TRIANGLES

• 

Along the curve of the hat, begin gluing your paper triangles all the way around.

STEP 4: CREATE A NEAT FINISH

• 

To create a neat finish, just trim off any overlapping triangles along the edge.

STEP 5: ADD A BIT OF SHINE

• 

Now, stick gold circle stickers, or any stickers you have, to the points of each triangle. 

STEP 6: TIE BELLS ONTO STRING

• 

We recommend tying at least two bells to one string. Then, thread it through the point of the hat.
TIP: Make sure you feed the string through the top of the point and not from inside the hat. 

STEP 8: SECURE THE STRING

• 

Secure the ends of the string inside the hat with another sticker or some tape. Then, trim the ends so the string ends are no longer visible.

THE FINAL RESULTS

• 

You are all done! If you’d like, you can add some tealights to the table surrounding the hats to make them stand out some more along with some extra bells.
